Infolane Spins Itself off from e-agency
After three years operating as a subsidiary of e-agency, inc., Infolane has become an independent company as of July 1, 2005. Our independent status will enable us to concentrate on the service solutions we believe are most vital to our clients’ continued success. "This enables our Infolane group to pursue our own business plan with greater focus," said Infolane president David Hillstrom. "We have enjoyed a strong, mutually beneficial alliance with e-agency, and we will continue to support one another." Infolane is geared more toward using the power of the Internet to develop highly interactive, application-oriented Websites," Hillstrom continued. "e-agency, inc. remains an alliance partner that is particulary strong in the disciplines of creative design, marketing, advertising and public relations." Widescreen Websites Gain Acceptance Oakland, California; May 12,2005 Widescreen format is rapidly gaining acceptance as a new standard on the World Wide Web, representing the third generation of Website design formats since the advent of the commercial Internet in 1994. Infolane has begun recommending the new format to most clients, said David Hillstrom, president.
"We're excited about the potential to more effectively engage the audience with the widescreen format on our clients' home pages," said Hillstrom. "With home page design we try to minimize scrolling. The widescreen format enables us to increase home page information 73 percent without scrolling, and to offer a more visually pleasing format when a variety of content elements need to be presented." Long-favored by designers who, themselves had luxuriously big computer monitors, advent of this format was delayed for several years because too many consumers were still working with older monitors set to the 800 by 600 pixel format. Since it is awkward to scroll a web page in the horizontal plane, that set a limit on the comfortable width of most Web pages. Website design has always taken its cues from the current state of technology in the hands of consumers. The quality of the end-user's online experience is the yardstick whereby Website quality is measured. The size of the audience that is limited to no larger than an 800 by 600 pixel screen is very low, although some people elect that setting or are unaware that they can change the resolution of their monitors.
Infolane Leases Offices in Downtown Oakland
Infolane has signed a lease on office space in downtown Oakland, and as of April 18, 2005 has taken occupancy on the eleventh floor of The Franklin Building. In March, 2005 Infolane relocated its operations center to the building, which houses several Internetworking oompanies including InReach Internet. InReach provides colocation space for Infolane's cluster of servers. "When we learned that office space had become available directly adjacent to the colocation facility we were eager to take it," said Infolane president David Hillstrom. "We are now positioned to operate with maximum economy and efficiency, and deliver excellent services to our clients." Infolane was formerly located in office space shared with e-agency, Infolane's strategic alliance partner. The two firms collaborate to deliver a wider range of services to clients than either company could offer alone. The new offices provide workspace for Infolane's expanding labor force. InReach Becomes Infolane's Upstream ISP
In a carefully planned move a year and a half in the making, Infolane has relocated its Oakland network operations center to InReach Internet's downtown Oakland colocation center, announced David Hillstrom, president of Infolane.
