David HillstromDavid Hillstrom is the president of Infolane, Inc, a Website services company and is a consultant with The Communications Philanthropy Group. Mr. Hillstrom joined Infolane as vice president in 1994, shortly after its founding. He became president in 1998. The company has planned, built and managed hundreds of Web sites, intranet sites and Web-enabled software applications for clients in business, government and not-for-profit organizations, with an emphasis on sites with substantial interactive functionality.

As a consultant with The Communications Philanthropy Group, Hillstrom guides the deployment of online technological solutions to resolving challenges and opportunities involving communications between and within organizations. Examples of such technological solutions have included:

  • Websites for member-driven organizations that foster communications between members as well as from the leadership to the membership, and that automate functions like membership management, event registration and application processing.
  • Websites for goverment agencies that organize vast, diverse content collections and that enable clients to efficiently publish meeting agendas, staff reports and meeting minutes for boards of directors, city councils and other official bodies.
  • Websites that enable organizations to maintain closer ties with their customers, investors, employees and other constituents.
  • Electronic Newsletters and other strategic, targeted outbound communications components
  • Social Media planning, implementation and ongoing management.
  • And many more

Prior to joining Infolane at the beginning of the Internet era, Hillstrom worked in the banking industry, extending loans and lines of credit to companies involved in high technology, manufacturing, distribution and services. Some notable achievements over a 16-year banking career included:

  • As vice president with CivicBank of Commerce (now City National Bank), developed the southern Alameda county market, opened and managed its Fremont, California branch.
  • Created and managed the Business Banking Division for Fremont Bank.
  • Specialized in high technology lending as assistant vice president for Pacific Western Bank (now Comerica Bank), San Jose, California
  • Managed northern California marine dealer lending relationships for Bank of America

Mr. Hillstrom has served on the boards of directors of several not-for-profit organizations, including the Fremont, California Chamber of Commerce, the Ohlone College Foundation, Robert Morris Associates Central Coast Chapter, Rotary, and the Contra Costa Association for Retarded Citizens.

Mr. Hillstrom earned an MBA degree (1986) from Santa Clara University. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree (1978) from the University of Minnesota, with an emphasis in finance. Mr. Hillstrom has four grown children and resides in the East Bay.
